Blue Single Bullnose Bricks offer a cost-effective and durable solution for various construction and landscaping projects. These new (concession) bricks are semi-glazed, delivering high compressive strength, low water absorption, and excellent frost resistance. Structurally equivalent to Class A bricks, they are available at a fraction of the price, making them an ideal choice for both functional and aesthetic applications.
Staffordshire Blue bricks, from which Blue Single Bullnose Bricks draw inspiration, have a rich history. Produced since the 18th century in Staffordshire, England, they are made using local Etruria Marl clay. Manufacturers fire the clay at extremely high temperatures in a reducing atmosphere, creating the signature blue-black tones and dense structure. This method makes the bricks exceptionally strong and weather-resistant, traits highly valued in construction.
A bullnose brick features one rounded edge, providing smooth transitions for edges and corners in walls, steps, or garden features. This rounded design ensures a softer, finished appearance compared to standard bricks. In contrast, a calf nose brick has a less pronounced curve, offering a subtler effect. Blue Single Bullnose Bricks come with a 50mm radius bullnose on one side, making them versatile for rounded edges and curved designs.
As concession bricks, they may include imperfections such as minor glaze flaws, slight cracks, or subtle colour variations. These irregularities add character and uniqueness, with shades ranging from deep blue-black to brindle-brown. This natural variability ensures that Blue Single Bullnose Bricks integrate beautifully into both traditional and contemporary designs.
Measuring 215mm long, 100mm wide, and 65mm high, these bricks suit a wide range of applications. Their durability and frost resistance make them perfect for outdoor use, while their semi-glazed finish provides a touch of elegance.
Choose Blue Bullnose Bricks for an affordable, durable, and stylish building solution. With their historical inspiration, structural strength, and versatile design, they offer a unique blend of practicality and charm.
