Each bag has mixed sizes of wood, and if you have a log burning stove, we would recommend you visit us and check the size, as some logs are over 35cm in length.

When it comes to heating your home, a reliable and efficient source of warmth is essential. Hardwood firewood, especially when used in conjunction with the Ready to Burn Scheme, offers numerous benefits that make it a top choice for homeowners seeking both comfort and sustainability. Delve into the advantages of using hardwood logs, with a special focus on how the Ready to Burn Scheme can enhance your experience.
One of the standout benefits of hardwood firewood is its exceptional heat output. Hardwoods like oak, maple, and beech are denser and have a higher energy content compared to softwoods. This means they burn longer and produce more heat, ensuring your home stays warm and cosy during the colder months.
Using mixed hardwood firewood logs can be an eco-conscious choice. Hardwood trees are typically slower-growing, which means that they are a more sustainable resource for firewood. When harvested responsibly, it ensures the renewal of forests while helping to reduce the carbon footprint of your heating system.
Hardwood firewood produces less creosote, a flammable and sticky substance that can accumulate in your chimney. Less creosote build-up means a lower risk of chimney fires and a safer heating system.
Hardwood firewood logs burn longer, which means you don’t have to constantly replenish the fire. This makes it ideal for overnight burning or extended periods when you need a steady heat source.
Mixed hardwood firewood releases a pleasant, aromatic scent when burned. The subtle fragrance adds to the ambiance of your home and enhances the overall experience of having a wood-burning fireplace or stove.
The Ready to Burn Scheme is a certification system designed to promote the use of well-seasoned firewood. By purchasing firewood with the Ready to Burn certification, you ensure that the wood has been dried to the optimal moisture content for efficient burning. This reduces smoke emissions, enhances heat output, and prevents the release of harmful particulates into the atmosphere, contributing to cleaner air quality.
