Rosemary Sandfaced Eaves Tile- Reclaimed

Reclaimed Rosemary Sandfaced Eaves Tiles are a practical and characterful solution for roofing repairs or heritage-style new builds. These traditional tiles are part of the well-known Rosemary range. A Rosemary tile is a flat, rectangular clay tile with two nail holes. Moreover, it’s overlapping installation provides a weather-tight and visually appealing finish.

Eaves tiles differ slightly from standard roof tiles. They are shorter in height, typically used at the eaves course—the bottom row of the roof. This row ensures proper alignment and support for the full-length tiles above. Each Rosemary Sandfaced Eaves Tile measures 6½ inches wide by 8½ inches tall, which is the standard UK eaves size.

The sandfaced finish refers to a light sand coating applied during manufacture. This gives each tile a rough, matte texture and softens its visual appearance. In addition, sandfacing also helps reduce surface glare and adds depth to the roof’s finish. These tiles are red clay, an ideal roofing material. Indeed, red clay is naturally durable, highly weather-resistant, and excellent at retaining colour over time.

These Rosemary Sandfaced Eaves Tiles are reclaimed and carry visible signs of previous use. Surface moss, lichen, and natural colour variation give each tile a unique, aged appearance. This weathering helps the tiles blend effortlessly into existing roofs. It also adds a heritage feel to new projects, especially in conservation areas.

Sustainable Roofing Choice

Choosing reclaimed Rosemary Sandfaced Eaves Tiles has strong environmental benefits. Reuse means less clay needs to be extracted and fired. This significantly reduces energy consumption and carbon output. It also diverts usable materials from landfills, supporting a more circular building economy.

Reclaimed Sandfaced Eaves Tiles combine visual texture, structural function, and eco-conscious sourcing. Their aged appearance complements both restoration and modern vernacular styles. These eaves tiles maintain consistency in size and fit while delivering depth and history through their weathered surfaces. Rosemary Eaves Tiles remain a reliable, sustainable choice for thoughtful roof construction.
