Loose Tipped Sharp Sand- Collection Only. Sold per tonne.

Loose Tipped Sharp Sand is a versatile and essential material for a variety of construction and landscaping projects. Known for its gritty texture and superior hold, it is ideal for rendering, screeding, and concrete mixes. This sand also excels as a base for laying block paving, paving slabs, and flagstones, ensuring long-lasting and secure installations.

Sharp Sand stands out when compared to other sands like Building Sand or Block Paving Sand. While Building Sand is finer and smoother, making it suitable for plastering and mortar, Sharp Sand contains a higher proportion of larger particles. This composition provides a coarser texture, giving it greater stability and strength in structural applications. Block Paving Sand, on the other hand, is designed specifically for joint filling, whereas Loose Tipped Sharp Sand is more versatile and suited for foundational tasks.

For landscaping enthusiasts, Sharp Sand is also a fantastic material to improve soil drainage. When forked into soil or compost, it enhances water flow, creating better-growing conditions for plants. Its gritty nature ensures the sand doesn’t compact too tightly, allowing plant roots to breathe and thrive.

Paving Mortar Beds

When preparing patio mortar beds, use a recommended mix of 6 parts Sharp Sand to 1 part cement (6:1). This ratio delivers a strong, durable base for patios and paths. The coarser particles in Sharp Sand help prevent cracking and sinking, ensuring a professional finish.

Loose Tipped Sharp Sand is available exclusively as a bulk loose delivery, making it ideal for larger projects. This option is both cost-effective and convenient, especially for construction or landscaping tasks requiring significant quantities of sand.

Whether you’re working on a garden project, laying paving, or creating concrete, Loose Tipped Sharp Sand is a reliable and high-quality choice. Its durability, versatility, and ability to provide excellent drainage make it an indispensable material for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts. Choose Sharp Sand for consistent results and superior performance in all your building and landscaping needs.
