These bricks are a great choice for those seeking an authentic heritage aesthetic. Their aged appearance eliminates the need for artificial distressing, adding instant character to any build. In restoration projects, they blend with existing brickwork, but their weathered finish also enhances garden walls, low retaining walls, and other landscaping features, bringing rustic looks to any setting.
These bricks have been reclaimed from a newer construction that used cement mortar, rather than lime mortar. As a result, many bricks still have remnants of this, clearly seen in the photos. Please see photos below for Before and After being cleaned by jet wash.
Dimensions- L22.5cm, W10.5cm, H7.6cm (3″)

Prestbury Red Pressed Bricks are a stunning choice for those seeking an authentic heritage aesthetic. These reclaimed bricks originate from a site near Prestbury in Cheshire. Made using the traditional pressing method, they feature a dense, uniform structure that ensures durability. Formed by forcing clay into moulds under high pressure, the pressed brick process creates a strong and smooth brick with crisp edges. This method enhances their longevity and gives them a refined, classic appearance.
These Prestbury Red Pressed Bricks are reclaimed from a newer construction using cement mortar instead of lime mortar. Indeed, many still bear traces of this cement, along with paint remnants, weathered surfaces, and staining from years of exposure to the elements. Consequently, their worn and rustic look makes them an excellent choice for projects requiring character and authenticity.
Each brick measures 22.5cm long, 10.5cm wide, and 7.6cm high (3 inches), with a solid weight of 3.5kg. Their large and heavy design makes them ideal for structural integrity in both modern and restoration projects. Whether used in period-style new builds or to match existing heritage brickwork, these reclaimed bricks provide both strength and style.
These Prestbury Red Pressed Bricks suit a variety of applications. They work perfectly in new builds where a traditional look is desired. In restoration projects, they seamlessly blend with existing brickwork, preserving the historical integrity of a structure. For outdoor spaces, their weathered finish enhances garden walls, low retaining walls, and other landscaping features, bringing timeless charm to any setting.
Using reclaimed bricks offers sustainability and eco-friendly benefits. Repurposing Prestbury Red Pressed Bricks reduces waste and the environmental impact of manufacturing new bricks. Their aged appearance eliminates the need for artificial distressing, adding instant character to any build. Additionally, reclaimed bricks often display superior craftsmanship compared to modern alternatives, ensuring long-lasting quality.
For builders, architects, and homeowners looking for historic charm, Prestbury Red Pressed Bricks provide the perfect balance of beauty and durability. Whether restoring an old property or adding character to a new one, these bricks deliver exceptional results.
