Protect your garden wall with these reclaimed Cambridge saddleback wall coping bricks. Craftsmen originally molded these items using regional Gault clay. Crucially, this dense clay displays a distinctive pale version of yellow London Stock brick colour. These perforated bricks weigh less than solid alternatives. As a result, builder handling becomes faster and significantly easier. In addition, internal perforations create an effective key for mortar, securing each coping firmly in place.
Now several decades old, these reclaimed Cambridge saddleback wall coping bricks feature a genuine age-consistent patina. Natural weathering shows as surface discolouration, minor chips, and light scuffs. You will also notice traces of original mortar alongside rich patches of living moss and lichen. Far from detracting, this biological growth adds rich authenticity. Consequently, these copings blend seamlessly into existing historic brickwork. Alternatively, they deliver an immediate sense of permanence within modern architectural designs.
Each of these reclaimed Cambridge saddleback wall coping bricks measures 22.9 cm wide by 6.5 cm deep (9″ x 2.5″). They feature a total height of 11.5 cm (4.5″) alongside a 5.1 cm (2″) upstand. Furthermore, every individual coping unit weighs exactly 4 kg.
Choosing reclaimed walling materials delivers substantial environmental and structural benefits. For example, re-using existing masonry eliminates heavy carbon emissions associated with new kiln firing. Likewise, historic Gault clay provides superior frost resistance compared to many newly manufactured bricks. Reclaimed materials also preserve historic architectural character across your entire property.
Specify these reclaimed Cambridge saddleback wall coping bricks to complete your project with authentic heritage craftsmanship. In summary, these reclaimed Cambridge wall coping bricks combine practical performance, eco-friendly sustainability, and timeless visual character. In addition, Watling Reclamation also stocks bullnose and plinth stretcher bricks in the same regional clay.
