Upgrade your barn, outbuilding, cottage, or rustic property with this authentic reclaimed softwood stable door. Moreover, expertly salvaged, this heavy-duty two-part Dutch door combines traditional charm with practical functionality. Additionally, the natural wood grain, characterful knots, and aged patina make it a standout choice for period properties, equestrian facilities, and bespoke garden structures.
This classic reclaimed softwood stable door features a traditional, functional split design. As a result, this allows the top and bottom leaves to operate independently or lock together as a single unit. As a consequence, opening the top half provides excellent ventilation and natural light while keeping animals, pets, or livestock securely inside. Furthermore, built from solid vertical softwood planks held together with sturdy horizontal ledges, the door delivers robust structural stability and lasting weather endurance.
Obviously, equipped with heavy-duty ironmongery, this reclaimed softwood stable door comes complete with functional, weather-resistant galvanised fittings:
Four Heavy Strap Hinges: Fitted with two wide galvanised strap hinges on the upper section and two on the lower section. As a result, this door is smooth swinging and has secure load distribution.
Galvanised Kick & Bite Plate: Includes a thick, protective metal plate across the top of the lower leaf to guard against scuffs, kicking, or livestock gnawing. Moreover, this protects the animal as much as the door.
Complete Latching System: Features an upper sliding latch assembly, a meeting rail catch bridging the split junction. In addition, a heavy-duty angled foot-latch / drop bolt at the bottom left is included, for secure closure.
Selecting reclaimed timber doors offers distinct environmental, aesthetic, and structural advantages:
Sustainable Choice: Salvaged wood reduces overall deforestation. Furthermore, this lowers carbon footprints, and supports eco-friendly building practices. Moreover, less waste is sent to landfill.
Pre-Seasoned Timber: Reclaimed pine and softwood have seasoned naturally over decades. Indeed, this makes the timber far more stable and resistant to warping or shrinking than new wood. Additionally, the use of softwood creates a durable but lighter weight door than hardwood.
Unique Character: Every reclaimed door carries distinct grain variations. In addition, historical saw marks, and a rich, warm patina is unique and cannot be replicated synthetically.
