Description

Reclaimed Yellow Clay Pavers 300mm Long

Transform your outdoor space with these exceptional reclaimed yellow clay pavers, or paving bricks. These large clay paving blocks feature a heavily grogged design. Consequently, this heavy grogging provides incredible structural strength and a highly stable, even size. Moreover, this makes installation straightforward while ensuring a perfectly smooth, level finish for your project.

Versatile Design Options

Measuring a generous 30cm long, 14.5cm wide, and 7.5cm deep, these yellow paving bricks offer unmatched versatility. First, you can lay them large face up. Naturally, this method quickly covers more area, while the 7.5cm depth easily handles heavy driveway traffic. However, you can lay them on edge for a narrower, highly aesthetic design.

To give you more design freedom, one edge features an unfinished, rustic look. Meanwhile, the opposite side remains smooth for a clean, classic appearance. Whether you choose a traditional bond pattern or a striking herringbone design, these reclaimed yellow clay pavers deliver a highly durable, visually stunning result. Therefore, they suit professional landscapers and DIY homeowners alike.

Act Fast: Paving bricks of this size and durability rarely appear on the market. As a result, this batch of reclaimed yellow clay pavers will sell out quickly.

Why Choose Reclaimed Paving Blocks?

Choosing reclaimed yellow clay pavers benefits both your property and the environment. Here is why you should invest in them:

  • Eco-Friendly Choice: Reusing materials reduces manufacturing waste and lowers your carbon footprint significantly.

  • Instant Character: Unlike brand-new factory alternatives, reclaimed blocks offer unique, authentic weathered tones.

  • Proven Durability: Obviously, these blocks have already withstood years of weather, which proves their superior frost resistance.

  • Historical Appeal: They add a lived-in feel, and a craftsmanship that new alternatives simply cannot replicate.

Installation Guide: Step-by-Step

Suitable for patios, driveways, and garden paths, these reclaimed yellow clay pavers require a solid foundation. Follow these six basic steps for a long-lasting finish.

Step 1: Excavate and Dig Out

First, dig down approximately 25–30cm. This depth accommodates your sub-base, sand layer, and the brick pavers.

Step 2: Install Edging

Without robust edges, the clay pavers will spread and the paved area will fail. Therefore, lay your edging kerbs on a 6:1 ballast and cement mortar mix. Next, pack more concrete up the outside face to lock them firmly in place. Leave this to set completely.

Step 3: Lay the Sub-Base

Lay a 15cm sub-base of MOT Type 1 hardcore aggregate. Then, compact this layer thoroughly using a wacker plate until it is completely firm.

Step 4: Lay the Sand Bed

Add a 5cm layer of damp sharp sand over the sub-base. Do not use soft building sand. Next, use screed rails with a straight board to level the sand out perfectly.

Step 5: Lay the Bricks

Start from one bottom corner or a straight edge. Crucially, do not walk on the screeded sand. Slot each yellow clay brick down against the adjoining brick, leaving 2–5mm gaps for the jointing sand.

Step 6: Compact and Joint

First, sweep away loose debris. Then, run a plate compactor with a rubber mat attachment over the entire area to bed the bricks. Next, spread kiln-dried sand over the surface and sweep it thoroughly into the gaps. Compact the blocks again to agitate the sand, then top off until full.
