Description

Rosemary Sandfaced Tile & A Half- Reclaimed, Red Clay

Reclaimed Rosemary Sandfaced Roof Tile and a Half offers both practicality and visual character for heritage and contemporary roofing projects. A Rosemary tile is a flat clay tile, known for its durability and classic design. Featuring two nail holes it’s used across pitched roofs in the UK.

A tile and a half differs from a standard tile by its extra width. It measures 9¾ inches wide and 10½ inches tall, making it one and a half times wider than a regular tile. This wider size provides longer edge coverage along gable ends, fitted in alternate courses, to eliminate a cut tile. Using a full-size tile and a half ensures strength and reduces potential weak points in the roof.

Each Rosemary Sandfaced Roof Tile and a Half features a sandfaced finish, a light layer of sand applied during manufacturing. The sand gives the tile a textured, matte surface and softens the appearance. It also reduces glare and helps the tiles blend naturally once installed.

These tiles are red clay, a material long valued in roofing for its strength and longevity. Red clay offers natural water resistance, thermal stability, and a warm, earthy tone that weathers attractively over time.

Weathered Aesthetics

These reclaimed Rosemary Sandfaced Roof Tile and a Half pieces show clear signs of previous use. Moss, lichen, and colour variations give each tile a unique, weathered surface. This aged look helps the tiles blend easily into existing roofs during repairs. It also adds a rustic feel to new builds, especially in rural or conservation areas.

Choosing reclaimed Rosemary Sandfaced Tile and a Half supports sustainable building practices. Reusing materials reduces landfill waste and avoids the need for new resource extraction. It also saves the energy required to produce new clay tiles. These reclaimed tiles are not only environmentally responsible—they deliver proven durability with a naturally aged look.

Rosemary Tile and a Half continues to be a reliable choice for those seeking character, function, and environmental benefit in one product.
