Rosemary Sandfaced Valley Tiles- Reclaimed, Red Clay

Reclaimed Rosemary Sandfaced Valley Tiles are a practical and characterful option for roofing projects that require functional, weathered detail. These tiles are specifically shaped for inside roofing corners and, due to their sandfaced texture, they can’t be used as hip tiles for outside corners. These reclaimed tiles show signs of natural aging, such as moss, lichen, and surface colour variations.

Please note, due to the nature of production, the age of the items and process of reclamation, there are likely to be differences in appearance between individual items, even of the same product. This includes colour, varying defects, size differences and other variations.

Rosemary Sandfaced Valley Tiles- Reclaimed, Red Clay

Reclaimed Rosemary Sandfaced Valley Tiles are a practical and characterful option for roofing projects that require functional, weathered detail. A Rosemary tile is a flat, rectangular clay tile with two nail holes, widely used on pitched roofs across the UK. Known for its strength and classic profile, it fits seamlessly into traditional roofing layouts.

Valley tiles are different from standard roof tiles. While a roof tile covers the flat surfaces of a roof, a valley tile is shaped to guide rainwater. It sits where two roof slopes meet, forming a trough that channels water down to the gutter. This functional design helps prevent leaks and ensures effective drainage. Rosemary Sandfaced Valley Tiles are specifically shaped for this purpose, but due to their sandfaced texture, they cannot be used as hip tiles.

The sandfaced finish refers to a layer of fine sand applied during the firing process. This gives the tile a textured, matte surface that diffuses light and adds visual depth. Red clay is the material of choice because it is dense, water-resistant, and durable under changing weather conditions. It also offers a warm, earthy tone that weathers beautifully over time.

Weathered Aesthetics, Sustainable Choice

These reclaimed Rosemary Sandfaced Valley Tiles show signs of natural aging. Moss, lichen, and surface colour variation are common. This weathering gives the tiles a rustic, worn appearance that works well in both restoration and sympathetic new-build projects. The aged surfaces help these tiles blend into existing roofs with ease.

Reclaimed Rosemary Sandfaced Valley Tiles also provide clear environmental benefits. By choosing reclaimed materials, you help reduce landfill waste and avoid energy-intensive manufacturing. This cuts carbon emissions and supports a more sustainable construction process. Reuse also means less demand for raw material extraction, preserving natural landscapes.

These Rosemary Valley Tiles combine function, visual interest, and sustainability. Their distinctive shape and weathered look bring depth to any roofing design. These tiles remain a smart choice for eco-conscious builders who value tradition and long-term performance.

Match with Rosemary Sandfaced Roof Tiles for a unified look.
