Tudor Crossley Interlocking Pantiles- MK2 (Reclaimed)
These sought after Tudor Crossley Interlocking Pantiles are a highly practical roofing choice for restoration and heritage projects. No longer produced, reclamation yards are now the most prominent source of these tiles, and they’re becoming more and more scarce. The interlocking design of these Mk2 pantiles adds a second interlock compared to Mk1, which precludes their combined use.
Dimensions- W29cm x L49cm x H7cm (approx)
Please note, due to the nature of production, the age of the items and process of reclamation, there are likely to be differences in appearance between individual items, even of the same product. This includes colour, varying defects, size differences and other variations.

Tudor Crossley Interlocking Pantiles are a sought after and highly practical roofing choice for restoration and heritage projects. Manufactured by Tudor Roof Tiles, a leading UK clay tile specialist, these pantiles are no longer in production. Subsequently, the only source today is through reclaimed stock, making them a valuable find for matching existing roofs or adding character to new builds.
Pantiles have a long history in Britain, arriving in the 12th century and gaining popularity through Dutch influence in the 17th century. A pantile features a single “S”-shaped curve, giving it a distinctive ripple profile. However, unlike flat tiles, pantiles require fewer pieces per square metre, making them quicker and more cost-effective to lay. Additionally, the interlocking design of Tudor Crossley Interlocking Pantiles adds further benefits. It creates a tighter fit, improves weather resistance, and ensures strong alignment even in high winds.
These tiles are made from high-quality red clay, or terracotta, which offers excellent durability and thermal performance. Indeed, terracotta is naturally water-resistant, highly breathable, and able to handle extreme weather without cracking. Furthermore, the Mk2 version of Tudor Crossley Interlocking Pantiles includes an additional rib across the underside near the leading edge. This design refinement improves the interlock and provides greater structural integrity across the roof.
As reclaimed tiles, these Tudor Crossley Interlocking Pantiles show their history. Subsequently, each piece features individual signs of wear, from subtle discolouration to light surface marks. Some tiles display patches of moss or lichen, which blend beautifully to create a textured and established roofscape. Moreover, the variation ensures that no two roofs look exactly the same, adding a sense of depth and authenticity.
Using reclaimed roofing materials like these supports sustainable building. You reduce waste and avoid the energy demands of producing new tiles. Reclaimed tiles also settle more naturally into existing roofs, ensuring repairs remain visually consistent.
Tudor Crossley Pantiles offer quality, sustainability, and heritage appeal. With their robust interlocking design and weathered finish, they are ideal for restoration or distinctive new roofing projects.
