Description

Blue/Brindle Double Cant Brick 65mm Caplock™ (New Concessions)

These Ibstock blue/brindle double cant bricks offer both durability and visual interest for a wide range of construction projects. Their distinctive colouring immediately sets them apart from standard facing bricks. Staffordshire Blue bricks are engineering bricks made from Etruria Marl clay, fired at exceptionally high temperatures. This process produces a dense, hard brick with very low water absorption. As a result, they provide excellent strength and resistance to weathering and frost.

These blue/brindle double cant bricks display deep blue tones combined with brindle undertones. Brindle refers to subtle variations of red, brown, and purple hues within the surface. Consequently, this blend creates a more varied and natural appearance than uniform blue bricks.

These particular blue/brindle double cant bricks are classed as concession bricks. This means they may include minor surface folds, creases, colour variation, or small glaze cracks. However, these visual imperfections do not affect their structural performance. They still meet the strength standards expected of A grade engineering bricks.

What are Double Cant Bricks Used For?

A key feature of these blue/brindle double cant bricks is the inclusion of the Caplock system. This design incorporates an interlocking section underneath that help bricks align more accurately during laying. As a result, it can improve stability, reduce mortar use, and support more consistent construction.

Double cant refers to the angled faces formed on two adjoining sides of the brick. These angled edges allow for smooth transitions around corners or curved features. Therefore, they are often used for decorative edging, window surrounds, or detailing in boundary walls.

The blue/brindle double cant bricks are particularly useful where both strength and appearance matter. Their engineering grade composition suits structural applications, while their varied finish adds visual depth. Additionally, the combination of Caplock functionality and cant detailing supports efficient installation. Builders can achieve accurate alignment while creating more intricate shapes and finishes.

Overall, these blue/brindle double cant bricks provide a reliable and adaptable solution. They balance performance with character, making them suitable for both traditional and contemporary building projects.
