Description

Reclaimed Grey Redland 52 Concrete Pantiles

Reclaimed grey Redland 52 pantiles provide a practical and historically appropriate roofing solution for many refurbishment projects. Each tile features a large profile, single lap interlocking design with a soft, “Old English” wave. As a result, roofs gain texture and visual movement without compromising durability or coverage efficiency.

Concrete has supported construction since Roman times, when early mixes formed strong and lasting structures. Over centuries, the material evolved into a reliable and adaptable building solution. Today, concrete offers excellent strength, weather resistance, and fire protection. Therefore, it remains an ideal material for manufacturing robust and long-lasting roof tiles.

BMI Redland originally produced the Redland 52 tile between 1951 and 1980 during a period of rapid rebuilding. These tiles became widely used across post-war housing developments as a cost-effective alternative to clay pantiles. Consequently, they played a key role in shaping mid-century British roofscapes. As an option, a red terracotta pantile, the Tudor Crossley is here.

Many buildings constructed during this era are now Grade II listed, requiring like for like materials for maintenance and repair. As production ceased decades ago, reclaimed grey Redland 52 pantiles have become increasingly rare. This scarcity explains why reclaimed grey Redland 52 pantiles are highly sought after across the UK roofing market.

Consistent Weathering, Unique Patina

This batch of approximately 2000 tiles comes from a single source roof, ensuring consistent weathering throughout. However, each tile still carries unique markings from years of exposure. Subtle tonal variation and light surface wear allow reclaimed grey Redland 52 pantiles to blend seamlessly into existing roofs.

Furthermore, these tiles help preserve the architectural integrity of heritage properties while supporting sensitive restorations. They also offer a practical solution for extending older roofs without creating visual contrast. In addition, decades of exposure to British weather, shows these reclaimed grey Redland 52 pantiles bring proven durability

Using reclaimed materials reduces environmental impact by limiting waste and lowering demand for new production. This approach supports sustainable construction without sacrificing performance or appearance. Ultimately, these grey Redland 52 pantiles combine historical accuracy, environmental responsibility, and dependable roofing performance for a wide range of projects.
