Introduce a striking historical feature to your property with this magnificent reclaimed Haddonstone equine head. Skilled artists modelled this impressive piece from an original Roman sculpture. Workers originally unearthed that classical masterpiece, part of a life sized Hellenistic sculpture from the 4th Century BC, in Civitavecchia during the 1500s. It was immediately a sought after piece.
As a result, it found its way into the home of the Medici who had it turned into the water spout of a larger water feature. However, today, this reclaimed Haddonstone replica of that equine head perfectly captures those ancient, regal details.

Choosing a reclaimed Haddonstone horse’s head offers distinct advantages that new factory items simply cannot replicate.
Time and the British weather have beautifully discoloured the aged surface. Consequently, the stone features unique patches of natural lichen and green moss. Furthermore, these organic elements soften the intensity of the piece.
The weather also naturally rounds off any sharp, modern edges. Indeed, this process helps the reclaimed horse’s head blend seamlessly into established gardens, bringing a sense serenity whilst displaying vibrant energy and movement.
In contemporary landscapes, this piece provides an instant narrative. It grounds a modern space by adding a comforting sense of longevity, making it feel like it has always been there.
