This reclaimed Westwood Belfast sink offers practical design and historic appeal in one compact package. Measuring just 16 inches long, 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep, it fits comfortably in kitchens, utility rooms or garden spaces. Its smaller size allows it to slot into tight spots without overwhelming the area.
Dating back to the 18th century, Belfast sinks originally saw heavy daily use in busy households. Known for their deep bowls and strong fireclay construction, they remain a popular choice today. Moreover, their solid build and classic design continue to suit both modern and traditional interiors.
Manufactured by Westwood, a sub-brand of Royal Doulton company, this sink has a fine pedigree. Indeed, with a long history of producing quality ceramics, Royal Doulton and the Westwood name are well respected in vintage basinware. Though small, the reclaimed Westwood Belfast sink still holds the quality and durability expected from such a heritage brand.
Because of its age and the reclamation process, the sink does show damage along its outer edge. However, this flaw is cosmetic only. Easily sealed or covered, this doesn’t affect the sink’s function. Indeed, the bowl remains fully water-tight and structurally sound.
The reclaimed Westwood Belfast sink suits a wide range of uses beyond its original purpose. Indoors, it works well in compact kitchens, cloakrooms or boot rooms. In addition, outdoors, it can be transformed into a planter, fitted into a greenhouse or repurposed in a garden water feature.
Choosing reclaimed basinware helps reduce waste and supports sustainable building practices. It gives new life to well-made pieces and reduces demand for new production. The reclaimed Westwood Belfast sink brings character, functionality and history into any project. It offers a practical way to use what already exists without compromising on style or quality.
Whether indoors or out, this reclaimed Belfast sink adds quiet authenticity. It’s a smart, sustainable solution for thoughtful design.
