Reclaimed Wicker Conservatory Chairs Set of 4

This set of 4 reclaimed wicker conservatory chairs offers strength, practicality, and character, making them an excellent addition to any conservatory. Each chair is in excellent condition, showing only light scuffs and wear, with a little dust from storage. They remain sturdy and require only minimal restoration before being ready for everyday use. Measuring 59cm wide, 59cm deep, and 77cm high, these are generously sized conservatory chairs. Placed four square, they require a room with good proportions to allow for their impact.

Wicker, in furniture terms, refers to a weaving technique rather than a specific material. Traditionally, natural fibres like rattan, reed, or willow were woven around a frame to create strong yet lightweight seating. The use of wicker dates back thousands of years, with examples discovered in Ancient Egypt. Its popularity in Europe grew during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, later becoming firmly established in British conservatories and sunrooms. This set of reclaimed wicker conservatory chairs, also known as Loom chairs, continues that long tradition with a design loved across the country.

Practical and Decorative

The construction includes a small diamond motif on each chair back, which adds a subtle decorative detail. Another thoughtful design feature is the cut outs in the rear corners. These make the chairs stackable, however, we advise to stack no more than four together at once. This feature allows practical storage without compromising strength or durability. With a wool throw or an attractive cushion, the chairs become both functional and visually striking in a living space.

Choosing reclaimed wicker conservatory chairs brings significant benefits. Firstly, reclaimed pieces often display character that newer items cannot replicate. Secondly, they represent an environmentally conscious choice by giving new life to existing furniture. Finally, they often provide better value compared with purchasing new equivalents of similar quality.

These reclaimed wicker conservatory chairs combine history, practicality, and visual interest, offering both comfort and character. With only minor restoration, they are ready to provide many more years of useful service.

Combine with a Southwold coffee table for a fabulous patio set up.
