These come in a random blend of tones of light grey and brown buff and measure approximately 4″ in all dimensions. Larger than most setts but smaller than standard cobbles, there are approximately 210-240 cubes to a bag, depending on the weight of each individual cube.

Size: 4″ x 4″ x 4″ (100mm x 100mm x 100mm)

Sold in bulk bags of approximately 4.5sqm

NB The colour mix is random and may change from bag to bag. We recommend the traditional method of mixing from different bags as the cubes are laid. (Apologies, but we cannot cherry-pick orders for colour matching on cobbles or setts.)

Description

Mixed Grey / Brown Granite Cubes / Setts
4″ x 4″ x 4″ (approx 3-4 sqm)

Granite cubes / setts are the hardest wearing, heavy duty paving surface, well suited for even the most high traffic areas today. These reclaimed setts have well-weathered and rounded tops. Centuries of wear from iron-shod horses, iron cartwheels and hobnail boots takes the edge off the face . The historical practice of small batch sourcing from a variety of quarries, results in the mixed colours of reclaimed setts. When wet, the quartz and mica elements of granite give it its characteristic sparkle.

These reclaimed, granite cubes / setts come in a random blend of tones of light grey and brown buff and measure approximately 4″ in all dimensions. Larger than most setts but smaller than standard cobbles, there are approximately 210-240 cubes to a bag, depending on the weight of each individual cube, to cover around 3.5 – 4 m² in total when laid.

These granite cubes/setts are becoming increasingly difficult to source partly because they are so hard wearing and, once laid, will last for decades. They’re ideal for driveways, courtyards, entrance aprons or anywhere where traffic might damage softer surfaces. They can also be used for drainage or laid decoratively in three- or five-band sett borders. On steep slopes, they also provide added grip for vehicles.
